ABOUT SHELF GALA

Aims & Objectives

Shelf Gala is organised by Shelf Gala Committee who meet on the second Tuesday in the month,  Its main objectives are:

• to provide entertainment for the local community

• to raise money to donate to local and charities, local voluntary organisations and sports clubs and other worthy causes

• To provide the opportunity for charities, businesses and organisations to raise money by their own means through stalls and games etc.

The committee are always on the lookout for new members to keep this Gala going for the next half century and to bring new ideas and enthusiasm to Shelf Gala. Please visit the contact page if you are interested.

The Committee

The Gala Committee are a group of volunteers who, each year, organise a village Gala for people in and around Shelf.

All the money raised goes back into the village by way of organising the Gala in future years and providing donations to organisations within the local community ,  the committee also fund and organise the Remembrance Sunday parade and Cenotaph service in Shelf each year and help decorate, organise and fundraise for the Shelf Village Christmas Tree.

Although we are only a small committee we rely on a tremendous group of helpers who every year rain or shine come and help set up both in the run up to and on Gala day. Without the help these people the Gala would not be as successful as it is.
