Shelf Gala committee organises the annual Shelf Gala, which helps raise funds for local charities and organisations and create an annual event to provide entertainment for Shelf and surrounding areas.

Stalls, Food & Refreshments
Each year around 40 stalls attend the Gala these range from local community organisations selling a range of items or just promoting their services to local businesses from around the Halifax region and beyond.
On the field there is a variety of hot food options, Ice Cream vans and a Beer tent.
Entertainment
Shelf Gala aims to provide a range of fun for all ages. Our main arena provides a variety of entertainment from bands, live music, dance acts for you to enjoy each year. In previous years we have had a procession however this year (2026) we have taken the decision not to have one due to cost, safety and reduction in numbers. Instead there will be activities and competitions in the main arena before the entertainment.
GALA INFORMATION
Drawing between 3,000 and 4,000 attendees, the Shelf Gala is an annual opportunity to unite our community and raise funds for local charities, organisations, schools, and other worthy causes. The funds raised through entrance fees are distributed as part of donations annually, supporting various local initiatives. The event also allows organisations and businesses to raise their own funds by having a stall on the day, which increases footfall through the village and benefits local businesses.
Shelf Gala is located on the main field within Shelf Hall Park.
